We also welcome gastroenterologists, mental health specialists and functional medicine doctors. If you are interested in becoming a provider on our platform, please register here and we will be in touch with your soon. To refer a colleague, please fill out the form here.

Will I receive notifications about new features and health information?

We may occasionally inform our members on the platform about new features (e.g., a personal diary), diagnostic tests, new providers, and/or other relevant health information that we believe will improve the outcome of the health journey.

How does DECODE protect my personal information?

DECODE is HIPAA and SOC2 compliant. We will not disclose your name, contact information, or any other personally identifying information to any third-party advertiser. Our email notifications will be specifically for your benefit, such as to advise you that you results are available and you must book a provider visit, or to let you know that you kit has arrived at the lab.

Can I delete my data or account, and what happens if I do?

You can opt to delete your data or your account at any time. Please note, however, that by deleting your data or account, we will not be able to recover it should you change your mind, other than by a formal, HIPAA-compliant written request by you to support@decode-me.com.

How might my de-identified data be used in scientific research?

It is possible that your de-identified data (data wiped statistically so that no one can tell from which person it came) may be aggregated and used to help advance scientific studies working on creating new treatments for the skin condition that you and others have.

Who has access to my personal health information (PHI) on the DECODE platform?

You, the test lab, your clinician (and just a few DECODE administrators to help sort out rare issues) are the only ones to have access to your results. DECODE will not disclose your PHI to any third party for research or marketing purposes. However, clinicians and laboratories are legally required to report specific test results to State Health authorities for disease tracking and prevalence.

Will my biological data be protected?

Your biological data is your most valuable asset and needs to be protected. Your data is entirely yours, and nobody else’s. We will never share your personal health information (PHI). Our platform is HIPAA certified to protect you.

Is membership on DECODE.ME free?

Membership on DECODE.ME is free and you don’t need to purchase anything if you just want to track your skin condition. We will continue to introduce both free and paid features, diagnostics and education in the future.

Can lab tests have errors?

On rare occasions, the answer is unfortunately yes. This is true of any diagnostic test. Results may be abnormal because you make a mistake taking your own sample, or if you forget to observe the conditions for the test (like fasting). Such abnormalities are why DECODE.ME establishes a baseline with a provider that you trust. By getting multiple snapshots over time and identifying trends in your skin condition, you can better understand the root cause inside your body and create a healthier future.

Why do you have to have a visit before you can see your results?

Some tests we perform may have broader implications for your health, so we want to make sure a professional guides you through the results and can answer any questions or address concerns you may have immediately.

How will I be notified when my lab results are ready, and how can I access them?

When your lab results are ready, you will be notified by email and on the DECODE platform so that you can schedule your visit with the provider to go over your results and receive updated recommendations based on your data. Your test results will appear as a PDF in your DECODE account after the provider visit. You can also make your results available on DECODE to another type of specialist or download them to a PDF to share with an out of network physician – or uncle “Joe” with the MD/PhD from Harvard.

How long does it take to receive and process my diagnostic test?

Once you and your doctor decide on the correct diagnostic test and you purchase it, it will ship to your address within 5-7 business days. After you register the kit and return your samples to the lab, it will typically take 1-3 weeks to provide the data back to your provider on DECODE.

How long is a standard appointment, and can I schedule more time if needed?

Our standard appointment is 15 minutes, with 12 minutes dedicated to you and 3 minutes spent by the practitioner to edit the visit notes taken by an AI based medical note taker. You can also schedule more consecutive time if you want a longer initial visit, or if the practitioner recommends more time for a follow-on.
