Will my biological data be protected?

Your biological data is your most valuable asset and needs to be protected. Your data is entirely yours, and nobody else’s. We will never share your personal health information (PHI). Our platform is HIPAA certified to protect you.

Who has access to my personal health information (PHI) on the DECODE platform?

You, the test lab, your clinician (and just a few DECODE administrators to help sort out rare issues) are the only ones to have access to your results. DECODE will not disclose your PHI to any third party for research or marketing purposes. However, clinicians and laboratories are legally required to report specific test results to State Health authorities for disease tracking and prevalence.

How might my de-identified data be used in scientific research?

It is possible that your de-identified data (data wiped statistically so that no one can tell from which person it came) may be aggregated and used to help advance scientific studies working on creating new treatments for the skin condition that you and others have.

Can I delete my data or account, and what happens if I do?

You can opt to delete your data or your account at any time. Please note, however, that by deleting your data or account, we will not be able to recover it should you change your mind, other than by a formal, HIPAA-compliant written request by you to support@decode-me.com.
